Services used
A 120,000-SF outpatient clinic was designed for the Police Medical Service of Abu Dhabi to provide medical care for the police force of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as well as the Civil Defense and National Guard. The clinic operates as a centralized facility for a range of specialty and general medical services including general medicine, an urgent care clinic, dental clinic, physical therapy, outpatient orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, ENT and cardiology clinics. Families of service personnel will be supported in a full-service pediatric and family clinic and women’s clinic. The entire project is directed under the authority of SEHA, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company. Morgan Consulting Engineers partnered with Leo A Daly to complete the project.
The Polyclinic design has been based upon the design selected from the concept design presentation made to His Highness, where Scheme 3 was selected. The concept is based upon the peeling of an orange and creating the exterior architecture around this concept.
It is a two-story atrium, located within a generously sized rectangle at the ground floor greets the patient upon entry to the clinic. This space will be an arrival point for patients that will be dropped off, arrive from at grade parking, or arrive from the below grade parking.
